Description
and I planned to do Oricorio variations a while back, and I've only just now gotten mine all finished up! My types were the "Physical" types: Fighting, Poison, Ground, Bug, Rock and Steel. As such, I did some research for birds to try to create unique type-like ones, although they don't really have the Oricorio shape, etc. (Granted, if I drew Oricorio I'd draw the honey creepers as exaggerated as I could for the type-difference!)
So, for my Fighting type, the "Capoeira Style" I took inspiration from the Secretary Bird! It kicks things. Like snakes. To death. BAM.
The Poison type, "Mambo Style" (which sounds a bit like Mamba, eyyyy), is based on the hooded pitohui, a bird that secretes a neurotoxin in its skin/feathers!
"Hung Gar Style", my Ground type, is based on a belted Kingfisher. Kingfishers to me look like sturdy, earthy birds, and the belted variant especially.
The Bug type, "Jitterbug Style" is based on the fledgling of the "cinereous mourner" -- the babies mimic poisonous hairy caterpillars!!
The "Waltz Style" Rock type might look kinda weird, and I will say that I was probably going a bit nuts painting by this point, but I went for an elegant Rock-type based on an Albatross/Northern Gannet!!
The final bird, "Mosh Style" is the Steel Type, based on a Long-Crested eagle!
Hope you enjoy!
